Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN Focus

Location: Southampton
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)
Start Date: Immediate or January 2024

If you’re a recent graduate with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for compassionate and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools across Southampton, working with students who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to gain practical experience and make a real difference in the lives of young people.

The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting SEN students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Implementing personalised learning plans and adapting materials to suit the needs of students.
  • Providing pastoral care and emotional support to students with additional needs.
  • Collaborating with the SENCO and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for SEN students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
