Learning Support Assistant for secondary school in Waterlooville!

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking to make a real difference in students’ lives? We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive school community in Waterlooville. The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and engage confidently in their education. Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, you will provide tailored assistance that enables students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom by helping them engage with lessons and complete assignments.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional needs, adapting learning activities as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages students’ confidence and independence.
  • Monitor and record student progress, communicating insights to teachers and the Learning Support team.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is committed to supporting students’ well-being and academic progress. Previous experience in a learning support role or with children with additional needs is beneficial but not essential for applicants with a passion for helping young people succeed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting young people’s development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to respond to students’ individual learning needs.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
