Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream Secondary School, Poole (September 2025 Start)

Are you a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference? A vibrant and supportive mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a skilled and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team from September 2025.

About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges. The successful applicant will be confident in supporting students both 1:1 and in small groups, helping to ensure they reach their full potential in the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with SEN and behavioural needs on a daily basis.

  • Providing tailored, focused support in both individual and group settings.

  • Assisting with the development of learning plans and activities to meet individual student needs.

  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive learning environment.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and providing emotional support as required.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a similar role, ideally within a school environment, and will be confident in managing students with additional needs. We are seeking someone who is compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting the learning journey of students. Applicants must be available to work full-time and possess a good understanding of the challenges that students with SEN face.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
