Teaching Assistant

Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: Competitive (Based on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Poole who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEN team. This is a full-time role, starting in January, where you will provide vital support to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons to ensure they reach their full potential.
- Work with small groups or one-to-one to provide tailored assistance.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
- Support the teacher in assessing and monitoring student progress.
- Provide general pastoral support to students and assist with their personal development.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (KS3 and KS4).
- A passion for working with young people and supporting their learning.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- The ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
Desirable Criteria:
- A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or similar).
- Experience in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) is an advantage, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
