SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School in Basingstoke
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a small, specialist secondary school in Basingstoke.

Contract: Initially through Teaching Personnel, with a transition to a direct school contract after a short probation period.

This specialist secondary school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with SEMH needs. The school focuses on individualised learning, emotional regulation, and personal development, ensuring that every pupil receives the care and support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during activities.

Helping to implement behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques.

Building positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement.

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.

Encouraging social, emotional, and academic growth in a supportive setting.
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children or individuals with additional needs (this could be in a school, care, or support setting).

A passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
-
Patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
