Behaviour Specialist Learning Support Assistant – Basingstoke

A specialist school in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Behaviour Specialist Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in supporting young people with behavioural challenges, either within an educational setting or a mental health/support environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group support to pupils presenting with challenging behaviour.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to support engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to create a structured and positive learning environment.
• Help pupils develop social, emotional, and self-regulation skills.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their personal development.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working in a school setting or within a mental health/support environment.
• A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting young people.
• Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
• A commitment to making a meaningful impact on pupils’ education and well-being.
