Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Canvey Island

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans to support each student's specific learning requirements
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student learning
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and attendance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for English and Maths
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Effective classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience using assistive technology to support student learning

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The tutor will be required to travel to students' homes or educational settings in Canvey Island, Essex. The working environment may vary depending on the individual student's needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
