Job description

Job Title: GCSE English and Maths Intervention SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Braintree

Job Duties:

  • Provide individualised support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in GCSE English and Maths
  • Develop tailored intervention strategies to improve students' academic performance
  • Deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly to track improvements and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Specialisation in teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level
  • Experience working with students with SEN

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching GCSE English and Maths to students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational skills to track student progress effectively

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis, providing support to students with SEN in their home settings. The tutor will be expected to travel to Braintree in Essex, East of England, for the tutoring sessions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
