Job Title: KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Wivenhoe

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored educational support to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting
  • Develop individualised learning plans to address the specific needs of each student
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to facilitate academic progress and personal development
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and areas for improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
  • Proven experience in tutoring or teaching students with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and best practises
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education or related field
  • Experience in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in an outreach setting, visiting students in their homes or community locations
  • Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
