Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Colchester

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging English and Maths lessons to Key Stage 3 students
  • Provide individualised support to students in need of extra help
  • Develop tailored learning materials and resources
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure student success

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with Key Stage 3 students
  • Proven track record of improving student performance

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Proficiency in using various teaching strategies and techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in Special Education or Literacy
  • Experience in delivering outreach programmes

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time position with flexible hours
  • Work primarily in a school or learners home 
  • Potential for remote tutoring sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
