Calling all Graduates and aspiring Teaching Assistants!  

Start Date: January 2024
Location: Ellesmere Port
Full-Time, Term Time Only: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting students and making a positive impact in the classroom? Our secondary school in Ellesmere Port is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Teaching
Assistants to join their team in the new year.

About the Role:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working across a range of areas including classroom support, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) assistance, and cover supervision. This is an excellent
opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain valuable experience in education, whether you're aspiring to become a teacher, further your career in SEND support, or enhance your skills in classroom management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to teachers across various subjects
  • Assist with the delivery of lessons, ensuring students are engaged and supported
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs (SEND)
  • Support with cover supervision during teacher absence
  • Assist with the development of student learning and well-being

About You:
We are looking for graduates who have a keen interest in education and a desire to support students in their academic and personal development. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree (e.g., Education, Psychology, Sociology, or similar)
  • Previous experience working with children, either in a paid or voluntary capacity (e.g., tutoring, coaching, or working in a school setting)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting students, particularly those with additional learning needs
  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
