About the Role

Are you a dedicated and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic SEN school in Bolton. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a challenging yet rewarding environment and is committed to helping students with behavioural needs achieve their full potential.

As a key member of the team, you will provide vital support to students who require additional assistance in managing their behaviour and emotional well-being. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a critical role in creating a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with behavioural and emotional difficulties.

  • Assist in implementing individual behaviour management plans.

  • Foster a nurturing and structured learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and pastoral staff.

  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour effectively.

  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation.

  • Support students in developing confidence and self-esteem.

  • Monitor and report student progress to relevant staff members.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with behavioural challenges.

  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or behaviour support (preferred but not essential).

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to working full-time in a structured school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
