Job Title: Fully Qualified Geography Teacher
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: October half term or January

Salary: Competitive and to scale

Overview: Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Geography Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Small Heath. This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified teacher to inspire students and foster a love of geography, while delivering the curriculum to students across KS3 and KS4. The role is available for an immediate start and offers the chance to work within a supportive and forward-thinking department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach Geography to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, delivering targeted support and revision as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and development.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities related to Geography where appropriate, such as field trips and clubs.
  • Ensure adherence to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures, promoting the welfare of all students.

Requirements:

  • Specialism in Geography.
  • A proven track record of successful teaching experience within a secondary school.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Geography.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students with engaging teaching methods.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching for a wide range of abilities.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
