Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English and Maths GCSE tutoring sessions to students in Chelmsford or surrounding areas.
  • Create individualised lesson plans based on students' specific needs and learning styles.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports using our internal platform.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to ensure student comprehension and success.
  • Assist students in exam preparation and revision techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in English, Maths, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Passion for helping students achieve their academic goals.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using technology for teaching purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or a related field.
  • Experience in providing outreach or community-based educational services.
  • Additional qualifications in Special Education or Learning Support.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is part-time, with flexible hours based on student availability.
  • Work will primarily take place in educational settings such as schools, libraries, students homes or community centres.
  • Travel within the East of England region may be required to reach students in different locations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
