Job description

Join Teaching Personnel as a Functional Skills English Tutor and support learners across Nottinghamshire.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated tutor to help students across Nottinghamshire develop their Functional Skills English. This role involves working with learners of varying abilities to improve their reading, writing, spelling, and communication skills, building their confidence and preparing them for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised Functional Skills English sessions tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Support students with spelling, punctuation, grammar, and reading comprehension.

  • Provide structured lessons to build confidence and prepare learners for assessments.

  • Track progress and offer constructive feedback to help students achieve their goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience.

  • Strong understanding of Functional Skills English.

  • Experience supporting learners with different abilities.

  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive teaching style.

  • A DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Location: Across Nottinghamshire

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
