Job description

We are seeking a committed and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to work on a one-to-one basis with a Key Stage 3 pupil in Nottinghamshire. The role involves supporting a vulnerable young learner who requires additional assistance with academic progress, behaviour, and engagement.

We welcome applications from educators with a strong background in behaviour management and a proven ability to deliver personalised Functional Skills sessions that also support emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored Functional Skills lessons suited to the pupil’s learning level and individual needs

  • Provide consistent, structured behavioural support in a one-to-one learning setting

  • Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that encourages progress

  • Track and encourage both academic and personal development

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in working with young people who present behavioural challenges

  • Confident teaching Functional Skills at Key Stage 3 level

  • Able to work independently and build positive, professional relationships with pupils

  • Holds, or is willing to apply for, an enhanced DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
