English Supply Teacher 

Full Time

A secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English teacher to join their team on a temporary basis. This role involves planning and marking, with assistance provided by the department and is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Mark and assess student's work, providing constructive feedback to aid their progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Support students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with the English department to ensure curriculum consistency and share best practices.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to colleagues and parents as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English in secondary schools, ideally up to Year 10.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
