Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school in the Portsmouth area who are seeking a motivated and ambitious English teacher to join their team. Recognized as a 'Good' school in its latest Ofsted report, the school is committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both staff and students.
This full-time role is set to commence in April or September (to be confirmed) and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school dedicated to academic excellence and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
As an English teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across KS3 and KS4, in line with the national curriculum.
- Foster a love of literature and language, encouraging students to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their potential.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with SEND or EAL.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of an enriching English curriculum.
- Promote high standards of behaviour and a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and initiatives to enhance the wider school community.
What We Expect
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified English teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a proven track record of success in the classroom.
- Demonstrate ambition and a passion for teaching, with the drive to inspire and challenge students.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and commitment to the school’s ethos.
- Show excellent subject knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Be adaptable, proactive, and resilient in a dynamic school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
