English Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available in Bramhall, Stockport
Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Bramhall, Stockport. This full-time position begins ASAP and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the English department, supporting both teachers and students to enhance the learning experience. Your responsibilities will include:
- Student Support: Providing assistance to students of varying abilities to help them grasp and excel in English language and literature.
- Classroom Assistance: Aiding the class teacher in delivering dynamic and effective lessons, and assisting with classroom management.
- One-on-One Tutoring: Offering individual or small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning and address specific areas of difficulty.
- Lesson Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of lesson materials and resources, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assessment: Helping to assess students' work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking their progress.
- Intervention Programs: Supporting intervention programs aimed at raising attainment in English.
- Mentoring: Acting as a mentor and positive role model, encouraging a positive attitude towards learning and academic achievement.
- Administrative Support: Assisting with administrative tasks related to the English department, such as maintaining student records and preparing reports.
- Extracurricular Activities: Supporting extracurricular activities and clubs related to English, enhancing the overall educational experience for students.
- Professional Development: Participating in training and development opportunities to further your skills and knowledge in educational support.
Requirements:
- A degree in English or a related field.
- A passion for English literature and language, and a desire to support and inspire students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal growth.
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
