Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Canvey Island

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality English and Maths tuition to Key Stage 3 students
  • Create engaging lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to ensure student understanding and engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Demonstrated expertise in English and Maths curriculum for Key Stage 3
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Proven track record of improving student performance

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum for English and Maths at Key Stage 3
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Effective classroom management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certification in Special Education or Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
  • Experience working with students with learning difficulties

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Classroom-based teaching environment
  • Interaction with students, parents, and school staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
