Job description

Passionate about making a difference in a young persons learning journey?

Teaching Personnel is the UK’s leading education recruitment agency, and I am looking for Tutors to join our growing team of educators, to support young learners on a 1-2-1 basis. You will need to be committed, passionate and dedicated to help our learners bridge gaps in their learning, grow confidence and re-engage with education.

Our outreach tuition roles support young people who aren’t currently in or accessing mainstream schools. These young people are out of school, for a variety of reasons such as:

  • Recently moved to a new location
  • Excluded from school
  • They are a Looked After Child
  • A recent diagnosis of SEN that requires specialist provision
  • SEMH needs

It is the responsibility of our tutors, to plan and deliver engaging and stimulating lessons for these young people. It is important that we create a great learning environment for all of our learners, so that a rapport is established and they learn in an environment where they are comfortable and feel safe. We encourage our tutors, to foster a positive attitude towards learning.

We need tutors who can support Primary and Secondary aged pupils, whose work would be primarily Maths and English, in Tilbury and surrounding areas.

The ideal tutor:

  • Positive attitude: Passionate and committed to supporting young people.
  • Great communication: Being able to be dependable and communicate well, so that you can confirm arrangements for tuition sessions; creating a stable line of communication with parents and Teaching Personnel.
  • Ability to work face to face (within the pupils home/ care home or public venue)
  • Experience: Our roles are best suited to Fully Qualified Teachers, Higher Level Teaching Assistants and SEN/SEMH Specialists.

The benefits of working with Teaching Personnel:

  • A personal consultant to look for roles for you and support you in the ones you find
  • A competitive wage of £30 an hour
  • Exclusive access to our CPD academy and opportunities
  • Autonomy over your working schedule!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
