Pay: £446.90 - £500 per week

An Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Chorlton-cum-Hardy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and supportive EAL Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of a permanent role depending on performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with students for whom English is not their first language, helping them to access the curriculum and make academic and social progress. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about language development, inclusion, and working with students from a range of cultural backgrounds.

You will play a key role in supporting EAL learners both in and out of the classroom, building their confidence in spoken and written English, and working alongside teaching staff to deliver differentiated support that meets individual needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Support EAL students in mainstream classrooms and in small-group or one-to-one sessions

• Help deliver tailored language support and intervention strategies

• Assist in developing resources to support English language acquisition

• Liaise with teachers to ensure EAL learners are fully included in lesson planning and activities

• Track student progress and support their integration into the school community

Ideal candidate profile:

• Previous experience supporting EAL learners or students with additional language needs

• A patient, inclusive, and adaptable approach to working with young people

• Strong communication skills, particularly in written and spoken English

• A background in education, linguistics, TESOL/TEFL, or related fields is desirable
