Job description

Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Hyde – Full-Time

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Hyde, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, ideal for someone looking to support students in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.

Location: Hyde
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent)
Salary: £89 - £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Role Overview:

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will be working across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting the learning and development of students in the classroom. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted support for pupils with a variety of needs, including those with additional learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students to aid engagement and understanding

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities

  • Support students with SEND and/or behavioural needs in line with EHCPs

  • Promote inclusion and contribute to the positive ethos of the school

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce key concepts

  • Assist with the supervision of students during non-teaching times, as required

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Have previous experience working in a school or educational setting

  • Be passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential

  • Be confident, patient, and adaptable in a fast-paced school environment

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be willing to undertake safeguarding checks and have a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
