Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for graduate teaching assistants to work with our partner secondary schools across Oldham. As the leading experts in the education sector, we work with over 90% of secondary schools in the local area, ensuring we find the best fit for each individual.

We are looking for recent graduates with a genuine passion for supporting young people. Experience working with children or young people—whether professionally or through volunteering—is highly desirable. This could include roles such as tutoring, sports coaching, mentoring, or supporting family members with special educational needs (SEN). All of these experiences help to build the key skills required for this role.

The Role
Our graduate programme runs several times a year and provides placements in secondary schools for the academic year. You’ll support class teachers with lesson delivery and provide targeted 1:1 or small group support to students who may need extra help, such as those with SEN (e.g., ADHD). Full training is provided, making this an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers to build valuable classroom experience and strengthen future PGCE applications.

  • Caring and patient attitude

  • A passion for helping others

  • Experience working with children or young people, especially those with SEN (desirable)

  • A team-oriented approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
