Cover Teacher – Wigan (Good & Outstanding Schools)
Are you a flexible and passionate educator looking for varied teaching opportunities in Wigan? We are recruiting Cover Teachers to work across Good and Outstanding secondary schools, delivering high-quality education in the absence of regular classroom teachers.
Position Details:
- Location: Wigan (various schools)
- Role: Cover Teacher (all subject specialisms welcome)
- Start Date: Immediate or from the upcoming term
- Salary: £120 - £150 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
- Contract: Flexible day-to-day, short-term, or long-term placements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects and year groups (KS3 and KS4).
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
- Support students with their learning and address any immediate questions or needs.
- Manage classroom behavior in line with school policies.
- Adapt quickly to new environments and establish rapport with students and staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable, but applications are also welcome from experienced educators and confident graduates.
- Previous experience in a teaching or cover role within secondary education.
- Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach to learning.
- Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work across multiple schools.
- A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
