Cover Supervisor

Our esteemed client secondary school in Old Trafford is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment, committed to providing quality education to students from diverse backgrounds. Our client is seeking a part-time Cover Supervisor to join their team in January and provide cover for absent teachers in various subject areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, managing student behaviour, and ensuring the smooth delivery of pre-prepared lessons during the teacher’s absence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage student behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students across various subject areas, including Humanities, Science, Mathematics, and Modern Foreign Languages.
• Monitor and maintain student progress, providing feedback and support as necessary.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
• Maintain effective communication with teaching staff to understand lesson objectives and expectations.
• Manage any administrative tasks related to cover supervision, such as marking registers and distributing materials.
• Contribute to the overall ethos of the school by promoting its values and policies.

Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with secondary school students, preferably in a teaching or support role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability, as the role may require working during different times and covering various subjects.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
