Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position begins in December and runs until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity for a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this position ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week, depending on experience.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining continuity in students' learning during teacher absences. You will manage classrooms, deliver pre-set work, and ensure that students remain focused and engaged in their lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Delivery: Supervise classes and deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a calm and orderly learning environment, enforcing school behavior policies where necessary.
  • Student Engagement: Encourage and support students in completing their assigned work to a high standard.
  • Supportive Environment: Provide support and guidance to students who may need additional help during lessons.
  • Progress Monitoring: Record attendance and ensure all completed work is returned to the appropriate teacher for review.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to teaching various subjects and year groups, responding effectively to the diverse needs of students.
  • Professional Presence: Represent the school’s ethos and maintain a positive relationship with students and staff.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Educational Background: Previous experience in education or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Adaptability: Able to step into different subject areas and manage a variety of age groups confidently.
  • Strong Communicator: Clear and concise in giving instructions and able to maintain control of the classroom environment.
  • Proactive and Organized: Capable of managing multiple responsibilities and adapting to the needs of the school day.

  • Safeguarding Awareness: Committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare.
