Secondary School Cover Supervisor required in Havant

A Cover Supervisor is a key support role within secondary schools. You will be responsible for managing classrooms, ensuring students stay on task with the pre-set work when their regular teacher is absent. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working with young people in a school setting, with no planning or marking required.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise students during lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Ensure students remain engaged with the work that has been set
  • Manage classroom behaviour and provide guidance when needed
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff alike

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting (voluntary or paid)
  • Strong classroom management skills or the willingness to learn
  • Confidence, patience, and the ability to communicate effectively with students aged 11-16
  • A passion for supporting young people’s learning and development
  • Flexibility to work on a short-term or long-term basis
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (or the willingness to apply for one)
