Primary Cover Supervisor – Long-Term Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Ellesmere Port
Contract: Initially a 1-Year Fixed-Term Contract (Potential for Permanent Appointment)
Start Date: January 2025

A highly reputable Multi Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Primary Cover Supervisor to join the team at one of its outstanding schools in Ellesmere Port. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about education and making a positive difference in the lives of young learners.

Role Overview:

The Primary Cover Supervisor will play a pivotal role in maintaining high-quality teaching and learning during teacher absences. This includes delivering pre-planned lessons across all year groups, ensuring a smooth continuation of students' educational experience, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and delivering pre-prepared lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
  • Providing constructive feedback to teachers on pupil progress and lesson outcomes.
  • Supporting students in their learning, ensuring engagement and focus.
  • Assisting with general classroom duties and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting (essential).
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective classroom management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the confidence to work across various year groups.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree or relevant Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
  • Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
