Position: Full-Time Care Worker/Teaching assistant
Location: Liverpool, UK
Type: Full-Time

Are you an experienced and compassionate care worker with a passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs? We have an exciting opportunity for you, working across a range of SEN schools and Alternative Provision schools in the Liverpool area.

About the Role:

As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for students with special educational needs. Your experience and understanding of working with vulnerable people will help build trusting relationships, enabling students to feel comfortable and secure in their school environment. You will encourage and motivate students to achieve their best, setting positive examples and helping them overcome any barriers they may face.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and support to children and young people with special educational needs, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, ensuring they feel valued and understood.
  • Encourage students to reach their full potential by setting positive examples and providing consistent support.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviours, using your experience to de-escalate situations and promote positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure the individual needs of each student are met.
  • Adapt to the unique requirements of different educational settings, including SEN schools and Alternative Provision schools.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs is essential.
  • A strong understanding of working with vulnerable people and the ability to build trust.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.
  • A compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual who is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for working effectively within diverse educational environments.
  • A commitment to working full-time in a school setting, providing consistent support to students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
