Behaviour Support Assistant Position Available in Chorlton

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Chorlton. This is a full-time position starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 - £500.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who exhibit challenging behaviour, helping them to engage positively with their education and achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Student Support: Working directly with students to provide one-on-one support, helping them to manage their behaviour and emotions effectively.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour, creating a positive and conducive learning environment for all students.
  • Intervention Strategies: Implementing behaviour intervention plans tailored to individual student needs, and working closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Conflict Resolution: Supporting students in resolving conflicts and developing effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Pastoral Care: Providing pastoral support to students, building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of student behaviour, interventions used, and progress made, and reporting this information to relevant staff members.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to managing behaviour and supporting student well-being.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Assisting with or leading extra-curricular activities that promote positive social interaction and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those who display challenging behaviour.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to addressing behavioural issues in a school setting.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
