Full Time, Part Time or Bank work.
As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working with an individual pupil under the guidance of the class teacher; to support them with their education and to provide emotional and behavioural support. This role can be based inside the classroom, outside of the class in an allocated workspace, or may be off-site. You will also be responsible for reporting any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer. The pupils are aged 11-16 years and working at KS3 and KS4 level, either towards GCSE or Functional Skills.
You must have experience working with pupils with behaviour needs, and be confident dealing with challenging behaviour. You must have GCSE's C and above in English and Maths, and must have Level 2 Safeguarding and Prevent training (Teaching Personnel can assist you with safeguarding training). Experience in a school setting is desirable but isn't required, we would also welcome applicants with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, military, residential care and other childcare provisions. Team Teach training is desirable (Teaching Personnel can assist with this).
You must have access to a car, have a clean driving licence and have business use on your car insurance.
This is to start in September 2021, and we can offer full or part time roles, or flexible bank work.. Start time is 8.30am, and the finish time varies between 3pm-4.15pm each day. Pay is a minimum of GBP10.20 per hour, paid weekly. This post is term time only, and is a temporary role, however there is the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.
The school is a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in Bournemouth, catering for students between the ages of 11-16, who have been excluded from mainstream education. All students have behavioural difficulties such as SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs), ADHD and Autism. The schools aim is to ensure every pupil has the opportunity to achieve his or her best. They are extremely successful and provide a personalised education which is always tailored to the individual needs of the pupil.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
