Behaviour Mentor (Teaching Assistant) – Stretford

Are you looking to support students in a school environment?

Are you looking to work mentoring students and have experience working with disengaged students?

A secondary school just to the East of the city centre is looking for a Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistant to join their highly supportive team. The school is a highly reputable school and has an Inclusion centre within their SEN department as well as a specific area where students can work so they aren’t permanently excluded.

This area has 9 – 12 students in at any one time and is highly supportive with the successful Behaviour Mentor being situated in this area working with a small group of students and on a 1 to 1 basis. The school are seeking someone who is keen to work with young people who don’t want to be in school or are experienced Mentors or Learning Support Assistants.

  • Start as soon as possible during this half term but possibility to start on Monday 4th November 2024

The successful candidate should be keen to work with students that may have behavioural issues or require additional attention and support. The school has a strong support network and believes in an inclusive nature. They are therefore looking for a motivated individual who has previous experience working with students either in a secondary school setting or a pupil referral unit.

Ideally the successful mentor will be able to relate to the students well, acting as a role model and someone they can look up to. Engaging with the students is the key to this role and will suit someone who can build on relationships and gain the trust and buy in from students.

The school is located close to Droylsden, Beswick, Gorton, Tameside and Ardwick for location – perfect to commute to on the tram.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
