Assistant Principal – Behaviour and Attitudes

Salary: L12 – L16 £65,286 - £72,126

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and dynamic leader to join a highly reputable and expanding Multi-Academy Trust as Assistant Principal – Behaviour and Attitudes. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and driving a positive culture across the school, ensuring that high expectations for behaviour, attitudes, and personal development are embedded in all aspects of school life. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on behaviour, attendance, and attitudes across the school, ensuring a safe, respectful, and aspirational environment.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives that promote positive student behaviour and engagement.
- Work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, and teaching staff to uphold high expectations for student conduct.
- Monitor and analyse behaviour and attendance data, using insights to inform interventions and improvement strategies.
- Support staff in implementing effective behaviour management strategies and provide professional development where needed.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student welfare and success.
- Contribute to the overall leadership of the school, supporting the wider strategic vision of the Trust.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a strong track record of leadership experience in a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of effective behaviour management strategies and their impact on student progress.
- Have experience in leading whole-school initiatives that have improved behaviour, attendance, and attitudes.
- Be a highly motivated and resilient leader with a passion for student welfare and success.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students, staff, and parents.
- Have the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive positive change.
- Be aligned with the values and ethos of the Multi-Academy Trust, demonstrating commitment to excellence and inclusion.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
