Job description

n exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English to join a highly reputable and expanding Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) at their site in Darwen. The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level teaching. They will inspire students to develop strong literacy skills and a love for literature while ensuring excellent progress for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities within the English department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and achievement in line with school policies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • A passion for English language and literature, with the ability to inspire students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards.
  • The ability to differentiate effectively and meet the needs of all learners.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and collaboration.

Job Details:
Role: English Teacher
Start: April (sooner is desirable)
Salary: MPS/ UPS, Dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
