The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Darwen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for education to gain valuable experience in a school environment, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-prepared lessons.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support students in their learning, addressing any questions or issues that arise during lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure continuity in students’ education.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, supporting events and activities as needed.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Demonstrates confidence in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a focused learning environment.
  • Is adaptable, reliable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced school setting.
  • Ideally has experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting (although full training will be provided).
  • Holds a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

This role is perfect for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or individuals with a passion for working with young people and making a difference in their education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
