Are you passionate about supporting students who need a different kind of learning environment? We are looking for a compassionate, adaptable, and experienced Alternative Provision (AP) Tutor to work with young people in and around Middlesbrough, providing 1:1 or small-group tuition outside of mainstream education.

About the Role:
As an AP Tutor, you will work with students who may be excluded, home-educated, or have additional learning needs. Your role is to re-engage learners, build trust, and deliver personalised education in a way that suits each individual’s pace and style.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 or small group sessions in core subjects (typically Maths and English)
• Support academic progress while building confidence and positive relationships
• Work with students in their homes, community settings, or designated learning spaces
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
• Liaise with schools, parents/carers, and other professionals as needed

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience teaching or tutoring young people, particularly those with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs
• A good understanding of the UK curriculum (primary or secondary level)
• A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
• A child workforce only enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
