Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant 
Location: Farnborough
Start Date: January, or earlier
Contract: varied, including full time and part time, both temporary or permanent

Teaching Personnel, the UK's market-leading education agency, is seeking a compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with high levels of SEN. We are working with schools who are seeking both temporary and permanent staff and can consider both full time and part time. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with High-Functioning Autism (HFA) and other SEN requirements 
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies, in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs
  • Encourage independence, social interaction, and communication skills through structured activities
  • Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring students remain focused and engaged
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching staff
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the emotional and educational needs of each student

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or other SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and parents effectively
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude toward supporting SEN learners
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent SEN qualifications)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
