Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary: From £89.75 per day

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Special Resource Base (SRB) within a thriving secondary school in Blackwood, Caerphilly. This full-time role involves working with pupils with complex additional learning needs, providing tailored 1:1 and small group support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about inclusive education and seeking hands-on experience in a high-quality learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning in a SEN setting

  • Provide emotional and academic support to pupils with a range of needs

  • Promote student engagement through positive reinforcement

  • Adapt and respond to challenging behaviour with patience and empathy

  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to track and support student progress

  • Uphold all safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS Certificate (or willing to apply)

  • EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration

  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months

  • Experience in a SEN setting is preferred, but not essential – full training and support provided
