Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN, Behaviour Specialist)
Location: Bridgend
Salary: £83.85 per day
Hours: Full-time, Term-Time Only

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a dedicated special educational needs (SEN) school for children and young people aged 3 to 19. Their mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that meets each student’s unique needs. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a strong background in behaviour management to join their supportive and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with class teachers to support children’s learning and social development
- Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students with diverse learning and behaviour needs
- Implement personalised behaviour strategies and support students in managing challenging behaviour
- Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities under the teacher’s guidance
- Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment
- Help students develop positive social skills and emotional resilience
- Support students in transitioning between activities and routines
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children and young people with SEN, particularly in managing challenging behaviour
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a caring, empathetic approach
- Ability to implement behaviour management techniques confidently and calmly
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to ensuring pupil welfare
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of individual students and work collaboratively with the wider school team
- Relevant qualifications in childcare, SEN, or behaviour support are highly desirable
