Support Worker (SEN School)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dedicated team as a Support Worker at a local SEN school near Bargoed.
Role: Support Worker
Location: Bargoed Area
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £86.40 per day
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our students. You’ll work closely with teachers and other support staff to help deliver tailored learning and care, ensuring every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role will require you to manage challenging behaviour and provide both emotional and practical support to students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to support their educational and developmental goals.
- Manage challenging behaviour with a calm, consistent, and patient approach.
- Support classroom activities, helping to deliver lessons and learning plans created by teachers.
- Encourage positive social interactions and foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to understand each student’s unique needs.
About You:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or young adults in a SEN or similar setting is highly desirable but not essential.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach.
- Personality: Enthusiastic, committed, and proactive, with a strong ability to connect with students.
- Training: Relevant qualifications in childcare, special education, or behavioural management are beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
