Job description

The role

The role of a SEND Teaching Assistant involves working with children with a variety of Special Educational Needs such as Autistic Spectrum conditions. This role requires a highly motivated, adaptable, committed, enthusiastic and resilient classroom support assistant with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the teacher and pupils. You will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach in all they do.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Experience of working children and young people with SEND in a UK based school environment.

  • Qualifications in relevant areas of SEND training/TA training

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs, ensuring their educational needs are met.

  • Assist in the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the students' needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • A creative outlook to learning - no 2 children are the same and our practice should reflect this!
  • Ability to travel between schools in Cambridgeshire is desirable, but not essential
