Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work in Secondary Schools in the Southampton area. 

  • Full and Part Time hours available
  • £75-£90 per day
  • Teaching Assistant
  • Term Time only

Teaching Personnel are working with a variety of Secondary Schools in the Southampton area, looking for Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs. The needs of pupils vary, but most will be either ASC (Autism) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs). Due to their needs, pupils can display challenging behaviour so you must be confident supporting this. 

As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for engaging the pupil in their education. Work will be set by the class teacher and you will support the pupil with this. You will also be responsible for behaviour management. 

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for TA's who are resilient, confident with behaviour management and have a good sense of humour.

Experience working in a school isn't required, we would also welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Military, Custodial Service and Residential Care.

We have full time, part time and ad-hoc hours available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
