Year 1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Poulton-le-Fylde

Location: Poulton-le-Fylde
Position: Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Start Date: January 2025 (possibility for an earlier start dependant on the successful applicants availability) 
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Salary: Between £12.90 - £13.50 per hour, depenant on experience 

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their early education? Do you have experience in a primary school setting, particularly within Key Stage 1? Teaching Personnel is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde!

This is a great role for someone enthusiastic about helping children develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and play an important role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Year 1 class teacher in planning and delivering fun and educational activities.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to support students’ understanding of core subjects, such as reading, writing, and maths.
  • Assist with classroom management, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Help monitor and record students’ progress, providing valuable feedback to the teacher.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages children’s social and emotional development.

About You:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within Key Stage 1.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is highly desirable.
  • Patient, approachable, and passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and phonics programs is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
