Job Advert: Teaching Assistant - SEMH School (Temp to Perm)
Are you passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the resilience and empathy to make a real difference in a challenging but rewarding environment? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a team at an SEMH school on a temp-to-perm basis, with an immediate start.
Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: SEMH School, Wirral
Contract: Temp to Perm, Full-time, Immediate Start
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and supportive lessons.
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with students to help break down barriers to learning.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Support students in both academic progress and emotional development.
Ideal Candidate:
- Resilience and patience in managing challenging behavior.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in difficult situations.
- A natural empathy for working with children who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.
- Reliable and able to build rapport with both students and staff.
- Experience working with SEMH students or in a similar environment is desirable, but not essential.
Requirements:
- Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably with SEMH or SEN students.
- A calm, positive attitude with the ability to adapt to the needs of each student.
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
