Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant – Knutsford (WA16)
An SEMH Secondary School in Knutsford is seeking a full-time Behavioural Support Assistant to start as soon as possible.

Senior leadership of this school are seeking an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to work closely with students who require additional support in managing their behaviour. This will involve working within the school’s small classes, engaging with the schools therapeutic resources,
As a Behaviour Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective strategies to promote positive behaviour and social skills among students. You will work closely with the school’s teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff to create a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviour, helping them to develop coping strategies and social skills.
- Implement behaviour management plans (including EHCPs) and individualised support programs, tailored to each student's needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages respect, understanding, and cooperation.
- Collaborate with teachers, other support staff, parents and outside agencies to ensure consistent approaches to behaviour management across the school.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents/guardians.
- Utilise appropriate de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
- Support students in developing self-regulation and emotional well-being.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing challenging behaviours in a school or educational setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques. Team Teach-qualified individuals are highly desired.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Relevant qualifications or experience related to behaviour support and SEN.
Benefits:
- £83.85+ per day through PAYE (no umbrella company or agency fees) paid weekly.
- Full-time role Monday-Friday paid on a timesheet basis through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
