SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Mainstream Setting, Bournemouth

Location: Bournemouth
Positions Available: Full-Time and Part-Time
Start Date: Immediate/As soon as possible

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream primary school environment? If so, we would love for you to join our team as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Bournemouth! We are offering both full-time and part-time positions, allowing you to work flexibly around your personal commitments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, enabling them to fully engage with the curriculum.
  • Assist in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to ensure an inclusive, positive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students achieve academic and social goals.
  • Support behavior management and encourage positive social interaction in the classroom.
  • Assist with personal care where required, supporting student independence.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A passion for working with children with SEN in a mainstream primary school.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key!
  • Patience, empathy, and an ability to build positive relationships with children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A flexible, proactive approach to supporting children's diverse learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
