Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join a thriving secondary school in Basingstoke from February 2025.

Position Details:

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Start Date: Feb 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, longer-term with temp-to-perm transition
Key Stages: Teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4

About the Role:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective lessons, supporting students of varying abilities to develop their mathematical skills and confidence. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and those at the beginning of their teaching journey, including ECTs qualifying this year and unqualified teachers with a strong subject knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effective Teaching: Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students to achieve their potential.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Maths curriculum.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and support the academic progress and well-being of students.
  • Extra-Curricular Contribution: Take part in additional school activities, clubs, or interventions to support learning.
  • Raising Standards: Help maintain high academic standards and add value to students’ education.
  • Professional Growth: Engage with training and professional development opportunities provided by the school.

Requirements:

✅ QTS (or equivalent) is desirable, but ECTs and unqualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
✅ Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and a passion for teaching.
✅ Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students.
✅ Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
✅ A Safer Recruitment in Education check will be required.
