A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Stockport is seeking a versatile and proactive Support Staff member to take on a dual role as a Cover Supervisor and Teaching Assistant. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain classroom experience while also supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover Supervision: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans when teachers are absent, ensuring students remain engaged.

• Teaching Assistant Support: Assist students with their learning in the classroom, working closely with teachers to provide tailored support.

• Behaviour & Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, ensuring that students stay focused and on task.

• Pastoral & Learning Support: Offer guidance to students, supporting their academic progress and well-being.

• Assist with Exam & Lesson Preparation: Help set up classrooms, organise learning resources, and provide supervision during assessments.

Requirements:

• Experience in a school setting (as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar).

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• A flexible and proactive approach to student support.

• A genuine passion for education and student development.

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
