Position: Sports Coach/Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Flexible, part-time or full-time options available
Salary: £85.00-£100.00 per day (competitive dependant on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Sports Coach to join our team and inspire primary school children to develop a passion for physical activity and sports! In this role, you will work with children in an engaging and supportive setting, delivering energetic coaching sessions while helping them enhance their skills, teamwork, and confidence. Additionally, this role includes some General Teaching Assistant duties, where you'll provide support to children in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate sports and physical education lessons, in line with the PE National Curriculum for EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- Promote participation in a variety of sports, such as football, basketball, athletics, and more.
- Create a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every child feels supported and motivated.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, and respect both on and off the field.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate sports into everyday school life.
- Provide progress reports and feedback on students’ development.
- Support children in the classroom, helping them progress in other subject areas.
About You:
- A strong passion for sports and working with children.
- Previous experience in coaching or teaching children, ideally in a school or sports environment.
- A relevant coaching qualification (e.g., Level 1 or 2 in Coaching, or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate children to stay active and achieve their full potential.
- A DBS check will be required (we can assist with this process if needed).
